Mariah Stoochnoff is a Registered Acupuncturist living and homesteading on the unceded traditional territory of the Sinixt Peoples in Bonnington, just outside of Nelson, BC. One of the ways she intends to contribute to reconciliation is by helping people feel more comfortable in their bodies through trauma informed care, so they can continue to connect with and be inspired by time spent in nature.
Mariah views her role as an acupuncturist as helping to guide the body into a relaxed state so it can remember its own innate healing abilities and return to a state of balance and health. She does this with the help of acupuncture needles, massage, craniosacral techniques, breathwork, and sound. Mariah also incorporates Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies such as fire cupping, gua sha, tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage), lifestyle counseling, and nutritional therapy.
Mariah’s approach is rooted in a deep reverence for nature and all beings. She strives to create a welcoming and supportive space where each treatment is tailored to the unique needs of her patients. Whether you’re seeking pain relief, stress reduction, or a greater sense of well-being, her goal is to guide you toward lasting health and vitality through gentle and empowering care.
Mariah has experience treating sports related injuries, acute & chronic pain conditions, women’s health (from fertility to postpartum), seasonal allergies, headaches/vertigo, digestive complaints and more!
When she’s not in the clinic or continuing her education, Mariah enjoys gardening, practicing qi gong, hiking with her dog, back-country skiing, rock climbing, and all kinds of cycling.
